How to set up a webinar

🦉 Course webinar ✓ Integrate with a live streaming video platform ✓ Integrate with a web conferencing tool

This article describes the basic steps to create a webinar for your participants using a third party.

At Easy LMS we want to allow our clients to create the learning platform they need to achieve their goals. For some clients creating a webinar is important. Easy LMS doesn’t have a built-in webinar feature. However, you can share your webinar invitation via our platform or embed it as a live stream. Find out more below!

Embed a live stream

Vimeo (and other tools, such as YouTube) allow live streaming!

To create a webinar on Vimeo, you will need an account. You have to create a ‘host event’ to host a webinar.

Before going live, you need to add this live stream to your Course. Go to Courses > Course title > Add new slide > Content > Add new element > Video or audio and add the link to the live stream in the Video or audio field, then click Save.

To go live, you must have a webcam ready or connect with RTMP.

Vimeo has a built-in tutorial feature to help you set this up in case you get stuck.

Share your webinar invitation

You will need an account on a platform like GoToMeeting, Zoom, or any other webinar software that allows you to create a shareable meeting link.

You can either create a new Course designed only for the webinar, or add a slide with the meeting link to an existing Course.

Go to Courses > Course title > Add new slide > Content > Add new element > Text.

Use the Insert/edit link option:

If you want to display this as a clickable link, enter the URL link and the Text to display.

If you want to display this as a clickable button, select Button in the Class drop-down menu.

Once your participants take your Course, they can access your webinar by clicking the link or button.

Depending on the tool you’re using, you may be able to copy and paste other ways of joining the webinar, such as dialing in using the phone:

Depending on the third party you are using, it may look different.

Your webinar slide is now ready.

Set the date and time

You can set a start date and time for your Course with a webinar included. Go to Courses > Course title > Advanced.

Use the academy

If you have an Academy, you can add the Course to one of your groups and share it with the relevant participants.

Add more features

Since your webinar is part of a Course, more features can be added. You could start with some written text or videos to prepare the participants for the webinar.
